Weather, Road Closure & Trip Changes

Kashmir’s mountain roads can close at short notice. If that disrupts your trip, you can reschedule for free or take a full refund of your advance.

What can change your plan

• A government road closure.
• Heavy snowfall or other severe weather.
• A cancelled or badly delayed flight.
• A restriction set by the local administration, such as the chains-only rule on the Tangmarg–Gulmarg stretch after snowfall.

Your options

Send us the details on WhatsApp as soon as you know. The standard slabs for other cancellations are on the cancellation and refund policy page.

When the road is open but conditions are hard

Our drivers know these roads and may change timings, order of places or route for safety. When a change alters what you were quoted, we tell you the options and any cost before you decide.

Snow chains

On the Tangmarg to Gulmarg stretch, the local union fits snow chains after snowfall. This is charged separately at the local rate as applicable and paid directly to them; it is not in our quote. See fare inclusions and extra charges.

Planning around the season

Winter and early spring are the likeliest times for closures. If you are travelling then, our winter taxi packages page helps you pick a sensible plan, and the Kashmir car booking guide covers routes season by season.
