For four adults with four suitcases, the seat count is not the deciding number. A sedan seats four but its boot may take only two large cases; a larger vehicle works if the bags fit behind the seats you are actually using. Define your bags first (size, not just number), then ask the operator to confirm the fit for the specific model in writing.

Why is “four bags” not enough information?
Because a cabin trolley and a large check-in case are very different loads. Give the operator sizes, plus anything awkward such as a stroller, a duffel or winter gear.
Describe each item using one of these categories, or give its dimensions in centimetres:
- Large check-in case (about 70 cm or taller)
- Medium case
- Cabin trolley or backpack
- Awkward items: stroller, soft duffel, boxed shopping bought during the trip
Trip length matters too. A week in winter means bulkier clothing, and shopping often adds a bag by the end of the trip.
Does every vehicle in a class carry the same load?
No. A class such as “sedan” can be filled by a Dzire, Etios or Glanza, and their boots can differ. Ask for the model, then ask what has been verified.
Our fleet page lists these as one sedan class and says which model arrives can depend on the day. If the boot is the limit for your group, ask whether a specific model can be committed to.
What changes when every seat is occupied?
In vehicles where passengers use the rear rows, the space behind them shrinks. Four adults need four seats, not necessarily every row, so check which rows your group will use and where the bags go.
Passenger capacity is counted excluding the driver. Never load luggage on laps or block the driver’s view, and do not exceed the vehicle’s permitted passenger capacity to make room for bags. If the bags and people cannot both fit safely, the answer is a larger vehicle or a second car.
Which vehicle suits which luggage load?
Use the matrix as a starting point, not a promise. Every cell stays “suitable if verified” until the bag-fit test has been done on that vehicle.

When are two cars or a bigger vehicle sensible?
When the verified fit for your bags leaves no safe margin, or when you also need the extra rows. Upgrading is unnecessary when your bags are small and your group uses fewer rows.
Two cars give more boot space but split the group and double the driver count. A larger vehicle keeps everyone together but costs more per day. Roof carriers and child seats are only an option if the operator confirms them for your vehicle and dates. Our vehicle guide says child seats cannot be guaranteed, so ask when booking. A roof carrier is an option only where we confirm it in writing for your vehicle, with weather protection.

Passenger numbers, bag sizes (or a photo), any stroller, trip length and route. Then ask for the vehicle fit in writing.

Frequently asked questions
Do cabin bags count against the boot?
They may ride inside the cabin, but only if there is space that does not affect safety or comfort. Include them in your description.
Can I choose a specific car model?
Ask. We can note a preferred model, but we cannot guarantee a particular badge within a class.
Can the driver carry luggage on the roof?
Only if the operator confirms a roof carrier and weather protection for your vehicle. Do not assume it.
Are child seats available?
Child seats are not standard and cannot be guaranteed. Mention it when booking so the vehicle assigned has usable anchor points.
Is a larger vehicle always more comfortable?
Not necessarily. Comfort depends on how many people use which rows and where the luggage goes.
